The heroes from my youth.
Strong and inspiring they never left my side.
Their sounds surround me, their words still seduce me today. The memory blazes inside me like a flame,
Which I enlight whenever it gets gloomy.
My heroes – my mentors.
You cut me like your most precious diamond.
You encouraged, you challenged me and made me who I am. And that is why I sparkle more than ever today.
From the bottom of my heart – thank you.

Collecting impressions and absorbing inspirations – the first two important moments in the develop- ment of the fashion collection by Marcel Ostertag. Last season, the designer said thank you to his loy- al customers and fans with his “Muse” collection.

Marcel Ostertag wants to give thanks and pay his respects to all his sources of inspiration, which is why the designer calls the heroes from his youth onto the catwalk.
His mentors inspire him every day, which is why he takes his heroes on an emotional journey and im- plements this inspiration in his designs.

The many impressions from different stages of Marcel ́s past are captured and catapulted to the present, transformed into a sensual fashion collection which is based on international, cool glamour. Opposites attract. Because despite the heroes ́ strength, every one of them has a vulnerable spot and that is what Ostertag captures. He lets power looks be complemented by feminine details and roman- tic influences. Everything should be in movement. Marcel Ostertag likes to remember his time at clas- sical ballet – also from this time of his life there are heroes, like for example Mikhail Baryshnikov, who serves as the central source of inspiration for the Capsule men ́s collection.

Representatives from classical ballet, the fashion and music industry have accompanied and support- ed Marcel in his career. That is why the new collection makes us rave about it.

Marcel Ostertag wants to put colourful magic and joy of living into the autumn/winter collection 2019 and shows flowing dresses which combine different prints in the patchwork style. Over the swinging dresses, Ostertag ́s muse wears cashmere coats, cashmere blousons and fake fur trenchcoats. Stripe patterns are combined with specially developed snake prints. Large cashmere scarves with all over logo are worn with this and combined with cool Marcel Ostertag X Tamaris shoes.

Every piece of clothing tells its own story: In love with detail, feminine and yet with the right balance of details which derive from men ́s fashion. Marcel Ostertag lets women ́s and men ́s wear melt and thereby creates a modern, timeless look.

Marcel Ostertag equates timelessness with sustainability – models without a sell by date can be worn again and again and can even be passed on to the next generation. A topic which the designer has made the most important value of his label: Styles that are sustainable and produced in Germany and with limited editions are the basic framework for a valuable fashion company. “Made in Germany” rep- resents longevity and German manufacturing.

His team is like a family. Everyone works together on Marcel ́s dream, because they believe in it. And as his career proves – we all did it right together.
David Bowie, Grace Jones, Louise Wilson, Kim Jones, Mikhail Baryshnikov, Alexander Mc Queen, and of course his mother Doris Ostertag, to only name a few, are the heroes who influenced Marcel both in private and in business. Every single one in their own special way.

Marcel wants to give each one of you a part of this journey, transported by the emotions of the very mature and modern autumn/winter 2019 collection “heroes”. A journey which will hopefully also remind you of your own heroes.

A special thank you goes out to the heroes of my everyday work, who support my creative process. I would especially like to thank Tamaris for the inspiring and fantastic cooperation. Together we are al- ready selling our shoe collection in 42 countries.
